How our Community Helps the Salvos to Feed the Homeless

For the past four years students and staff from the College have been making soups for the homeless people of Perth in association with the Salvation Army.

Super Soupers allows students, whose gift is performing acts of service, the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the community. It is also an example to all students in the College Community that society needs a variety of philanthropic activities, including serving those less fortunate than ourselves.

Super Soupers make over 200L of soups every month, namely pumpkin soup, potato-leek soup, corn-celery soup, cauliflower-bean soup and a vegetable-lentil soup.  To achieve this, we need our families and staff to commit to donating ingredients on a monthly basis. For example if you commit to three cauliflowers, than we need these to be brought in every month.

If you would like to contribute to this worthwhile cause you can find a list of required ingredients here.

Please email me the items you want to donate and I will add your name next to them, the page will be updated regularly to show which items still require a donor.  Donations can be dropped off at the Senior School Administration office between the Monday and Tuesday mornings prior to soup making on Tuesday afternoon. The week before Super Soupers I send a friendly reminder to all people involved in this venture. If you have any questions, please contact me on 93748361 or fabiennec@scea.wa.edu.au

I look forward to another amazing year of Swan Super Soupers.
