Physical Education

The Physical Education program at Swan Christian College covers a varity of skills and sports with the Curriculum Framework used as a guide.

Each class in Kindergarten and Pre-Primary run an indoor/outdoor program where the physical activity is built in relation to the 'domains of learning'. Physical Education is split into fine and gross motor skill time. Fundamental movement skill sets are developed to allow the children to engage and grow the skills they need to join in games and other physical activity.

In Years One to Six there is a frame of Interpersonal Skills and Skills for Physical activity. Through the year groups, there is a progression from an individual skills focus to a team skills focus. The difficulty level of activities is also increased.

The class program is split into three main areas:

Fitness is run by the class teacher and is done in a variety of ways. These include dance, aerobics and games.
Physical Education lessons with our specialist include skill development and practise to meet outcomes for each level of development.
Competitions and carnivals provide opportunities for a variety of year levels to compete at school and away.
