Camps
Given the holistic nature of the educational experience delivered by Swan Christian College there is a strong camping program undertaken to support this approach. We currently run a whole year camp for Years 7, 10 and 12. The nature of these camps are deliberately varied and structured in a way that supports the holistic education of each student. The Year 7 Camp has a focus of introducing students to their life in high school. It is pastorally focused with the intent of enabling students to develop significant relationships with their peers and the staff int he school. The Year 10 Camp sees the year group divided into two separate camps one for boys and one for girls. The intent with these camps is to take the opportunity to focus on growing them into responsible men and women. They have guest speakers and are exposed to the world of life after school. The activities here are intended to put the finishing touches on their experiences at school and turn their attention to finishing school and looking to the future.
Apart from the year camps there are many opportunities for students to have camping experiences. The opportunities in the school include: Cadets, Christian Union, Mission Trips to Cambodia and Africa, Outdoor Education Expeditions in Years 10, 11 and 12 and the junior and senior leadership camps.
The camping program is extensive and an important part of all students education at Swan Christian College.
