Swanonline
Swanonline was established to provide learning technologies services to Swan Christian College and other schools in the Swan Christian Education Association (SCEA) system.
With families increasingly deciding to home school their children during their high school years, Swanonline has progressed to providing high level curriculum rich content through the Swanonline website (portal). This allows students, teachers and administrative staff to communicate online using the latest web enabled technology, which may include children on extended sick leave as well as families travelling, missionaries or those living in remote areas.
Qualified Swanonline staff can provide appropriate and expert support, including preparation for students' final exams. Swanonline seeks to ensure that our use of technology is outcomes driven and that our key stakeholders students, teachers and parents receive the best value possible.
A major part of Swanonline 's work involves the research and development of online learning resources; from learning objects and online repositories to the Digital Library and online content development.
All students and staff have their own websites for classes, subjects and extra-curricular use, while collaboration and technological competency are built into the learning infrastructure of the Swanonline portal.
Future plans for Swanonline is the development of online curriculum for all year levels. The growth in the effective use of curriculum driven technology continues to result in greater choice for students and parents and better preparation of students for life long learning.
