Japan Tour – Day 6: Ryuoo Ski Park

We started early on this morning, tugging up and boarding the shuttle bus up to Ryuoo Ski Park. Freshly fallen snow coated the mountains and the deep powder was perfect for the snow sports we were about to partake in. We were given a brief 30 minute lesson before hitting the sloped with our skiis or snow boards. A few people opted to visit Shibu Onsen instead where they bought some traditional souvenirs and visited a Japanese arcade. Back on the mountain, we split into smaller groups, traversing the slopes seeking challenges and thrills. A small group even made it to the top of the run before cautiously making their way down. Overall there was a lot of fun had and a great experience of the Japanese Snow Culture – the ski park we were at was focused more on the locals rather than tourists and there were hundreds of school students practising their skills there too. Exhausted, we made our way back to the hotel, went out for a meal and crashed back at the hotel.
