WAAPA Short Courses

Whether you are a beginner or a professional, there is a WAAPA short course for you. Taught by industry experts, these weekend, weeknight and school holiday workshops offer practical tuition in the areas of acting, screen performance, music, singing, dancing, audition technique and music theatre. WAAPA’s ‘Explore Short Courses’ are a great way to get a taste of what WAAPA has to offer, allowing you to fine-tune your skills or learn some new ones. The courses are run all year round and are aimed at everyone from school students and young adults to professionals and arts enthusiasts.

Homeless For A Night 2018

Manna is a compassionate charitable organisation providing hope and dignity to the hungry, the lonely, the disadvantaged and the underprivileged community in Perth, WA. From what began as the simple act of feeding a few homeless people in a park, Manna has grown to become one of the largest providers of meals to the homeless and disadvantaged people in Perth.

Manna will be hosting Homeless For A night on Saturday 16 July to raise awareness and funds for Manna’s Hot ‘n’ Healthy Meals program which provides meals to the homeless and struggling people of Perth. For more information on how you can support them please download the flyer below.

Rock & Water Program

Relationships Australia offers a variety of workshops to educate and engage people of all ages in our community. On the 9 June they will be holding The Rock & Water Program.

The Rock & Water program leads from simple self-defense, boundary and communication exercises; aiming to create a strong notion of self-confidence.
The program offers a framework of exercises that enable young people to become more aware of the purpose and motivation in their life; in particular how to deal with power, strength and powerlessness.

The workshop will explore:

  • Communication skills and interpretation of body language cues;
  • Practical anti-bullying strategies;
  • Grounding, centredness and mental strength;
  • Basic self-defense skills;
  • Positive feelings, thoughts and visualisation.

Good Neighbour Sunday Arvo

Everybody needs good neighbours and the Good Neighbour Sunday Arvo Community in Midland is all about that. Come and join an afternoon of fun with music, stalls and food at the Midland Oval.
