Hills Billy Cart Festival

Sunday 27 October 2019 will see the Mount Helena Classic take place, featuring the popular Hills Billy Cart Festival alongside the much-loved Whim Festival in the historic timber village of Mount Helena. This is a free entry family friendly day out with activities for all ages.

As part of the Billy Cart Festival, participants build and race their own Billy Carts down a 600-meter track. The event organisers would like take this opportunity to invite students to participate and are seeking expressions of interest from students in building and decorating a cart and choosing a driver to race on the day.

The project of building a Billy Cart will empower students to demonstrate their planning skills, mathematical thinking, engineering and design ability as well as feel a sense of pride and achievment. The Hills Billy Cart volunteer committee members can be available for training and guidance to assist with construction if needed.
