Young people have a chance to speak out!

The City of Swan is hosting its eighth annual Youth Out Loud Public Speaking Contest. This year’s theme is Reality Check. Youth Out Loud: Reality Check asks young people to get up and speak about their view of reality, with local Councillors and Members of Parliament usually attending.

Entries are now open, and the competition available to all young people who live, work, attend school or belong to a club in the City of Swan. There four categories to compete in: Junior, for Years 7 and 8 / Intermediate, for Years 9 and 10 / Senior, for Years 11 and 12, or equivalent age / and Master, for 18 – 25s. Heats will be held at the Midland Junction Arts Centre from 6pm on Fridays 19 August, 26 August and 2 September, with the final on Friday 9 September. Everyone is welcome to come along.

Winners from each category will receive a $200 gift card and the opportunity to win the perpetual Charlie Gregorini Memorial Shield for their school.
