Indigenous Studies Day at UWA

Last November I was privileged to go to UWA to participate in Year 8 Discovery Day run by the School of Indigenous Studies.

The day introduces students to the university environment while doing some hands-on activities at different study areas. Two of my personal favourite activities on the day were Sport and Science Education and Plastering Your Arm.

We participated in groups in six activities for the Sport and Science, my favourite was the 30m sprint. When our group was called for the sprint we had to run in pairs to the finish line while someone timed us, mine was the fastest time of the day. Plastering Your Arm was great fun. We had to get into partners and were shown how to plaster our partner’s arm.

Overall I had a wonderful time at UWA and would love to come back one day, everyone was inspiring and there are a lot of opportunities for my future. Thank you to Mrs Spurgeon for accompanying me on the day.
