A Generous and Joyful Night

Over 100 people filled the Swan Christian College Gym to celebrate 10 years since the establishment of the Light Up Ahead School in Kantolomba, Zambia.

The Light Up Ahead School was established by Swan Christian College to provide meals and education for vulnerable and orphaned children.

An amazing team of staff and students gave up their time and talents to make the banquet a huge success. A multitude of people commented on how delicious they found the meal. Full credit to the chefs, and other kitchen staff, who helped bring this amazing three course banquet together. Credit also to the 25 students and other staff who volunteered on the night to either serve tables or perform in the Jazz ensemble.

There was a wonderful and joyful atmosphere at the banquet and the spirit of generosity was very evident with over $8000 raised on the night to build a shade structure for the school. 11 people who attended the banquet also chose to sponsor a child, leaving only 12 out of the 230 children at the school still to find sponsors.

Finally, I would like to acknowledge Swan Valley Fresh, Oven Door Bakery and Redmile Coffee Roasters who generously donated their produce on the night to support this cause.
