On Tuesday, students from Senior School took part in the ACC Athletics Carnival at the State Athletics Centre.
This year we competed in F Division, and the quality of the performances of our athletes all day was amazing. I would like to congratulate every athlete that represented the College, it was fantastic to see so many great efforts and a real camaraderie throughout the carnival.
By the end of the day Swan Christian College was awarded the overall aggregate shield by recording 1736 points, over 100 points more than the second place school. We were also awarded the shields for Junior and Senior Girls, and the Girls and Boys Aggregate. It was a brilliant effort from everyone involved.
There were some outstanding individual efforts throughout the day:
U14 boys – Kane Higgins 1st place
U14 girls – Dakota Winter tied for 2nd place
U15 boys – Zane Trew tied for 2nd place
U16 girls – Morgan Styles 2nd place
U16 girls – Georgia Dewstow-Smith 4th place
Open girls – Samantha Hunt 2nd place
Open girls – Julia Newton 4th place
Thank you to all the staff who came along and to the students who put in a huge effort and represented the College with real professionalism and passion. Next year we will be moving up to E Division, so the challenge will be to keep up this high standard - I’m sure the students are up to it.
