Pied Piper of Middle Swan: September 2019
The students in Years 3 and 4 have been rehearsing the ‘Rat Rap’ every Wednesday lunchtime in the Junior School with Mrs Balla and myself. Of late, we have moved over to the Maali Mia Theatre and have begun to add some of our ‘Rat’ acting to our performance work. The Year 5 and 6 students are doing a marvellous job with the script and are busy learning their lines.
This play runs on 24 and 26 September at 7:15pm and you will not want to miss this delightful tale performed by our talented Junior School Children. Tickets are now available at tinyurl.com/PiedPiper2019.
Clara’s on the Curtains – Community Theatre: December 2019
Last week, I auditioned a wonderful group of women, staff, parents and alumni to perform in this comedy to end our 2019 season.
Clara’s on the Curtains is a comic farce that deals with all the hilarity of an armature community theatrical club putting on a play. The curtain is about to go up on the Women’s Guild variety and dramatic show when one of the leads loses her voice. This is the start of a series of calamities, not lessened by well meaning, but none the less embarrassing offers of help. At the last moment all is well, and Clara even learns how to work the curtains. We commence rehearsals this week.
Fame Junior School Musical: April 2020
Auditions for the 2020 School Musical Fame Junior will take place in Week 5 and part of Week 6 this term. This is open to all our many talented students of Drama, Dance and Music.
There are signup sheets on the window near the theatre door in the Maali Mia and at Junior School Student Services for Year 6 students. This is a wonderful musical and will be a fabulous show. Please be advised that it will require a commitment from students from Term 3 until the end of Term 1 in 2020.
