For 2020, year groups will specifically focus on areas designed and targeted to collectively grow the individual and the year group community. Recently, Year 8s listened and engaged in online safety lead by ySafe, whilst our new Year 7 cohort were inducted into the College and enjoyed their camp over at Karem Adventure Camp.

Our first parent session for the year will also be with ySafe in the Maali Mia at 7:00pm on 25 February 2020. YSafe are an organisation which speaks specifically into digital safety. This parent session is extremely informative and relevant for all our parent community. Please feel free to view their website for more information https://www.ysafe.com.au/

Further information will be provided. We invite you and members of the community to attend this session. Feedback from our 2019 parent community encouraged the value of a session like this to learn details of what is happening online with our youth and ways we as a College community can protect this space.

Please also remember to view our School TV, in particular the most recent video on moving to a new school.

Further to providing specific year group focus in our Living Well program, students are also encouraged to view the term calendar and join a range of past and new initiatives the College has put on offer for 2020. From Week 3 Term 1, numerous activities are available for our Middle and Senior School students. Please also feel free to offer suggestions and feedback.

For further information on our Living Well program, please feel free to view our website, ask your child or phone your child’s Mentor Teacher.

Please note that the calendar is subject to change throughout the term. For extracurricular items, please see the extracurricula calendar which will be published on SEQTA by the end of the week.

Parent Community

School TV

“It’s never been more challenging for parents to raise happy, healthy and resilient children.
Like never before, parents need to be informed with clear, fact-based information on the many challenges faced by today’s youth. Topics such as youth anxiety, depression, self-harm, drug and alcohol use, cyberbullying and many others need clear explanation and guidance.

SchoolTV is a new ongoing resource that is now available to our parents. Each edition will address a major topic with expert interviews, fact sheets, parent quiz, recommended apps, books and much more. SchoolTV aggregates information from many great resources such as BeyondBlue and ReachOut, amongst others. SchoolTV provides a single stream of independent factual information that saves parents time and confusion of searching online across multiple sites for information.
