Last week Senior School students who learn a musical instrument as part of a College program performed in front of their friends and family.

The recital offered a great opportunity for music students to present pieces to an audience and enhance their skills of performance. Students played a diverse range of instruments; for some this was their first presentation to an audience, while others have performed many times.

Violin students performed some complex pieces, accompanied by tutor Bill Napier on classical guitar. Jeremy Thomson’s guitar students presented some acoustic rock and roll, and Lachlan Hanley raised the roof with an electric guitar piece from 70’s rock band Rush. Krzysztof Piotrowicz’s classical guitar students played some beautiful pieces accompanied by a small ensemble of student singers. Kathy Randall’s vocal students performed songs from Disney movies and musical theatre, and even dressed up for the performance.

We would like to thank all students who performed, all who attended and supported the students on the night, and the tutors who work so tirelessly with their students all year.
