It was a pleasure to have over 30 of our sponsors attend the Missions Child Sponsor Morning Tea last Wednesday morning.

Sheba Moyo, the Principal at Light Up Ahead School in Zambia was our special guest, along with Mrs Nicola Car White, who explained the Jolly Phonics resources that she will be introducing to the teachers in Zambia later this month.

Sheba gave an inspirational talk about the impact the school is having in the lives of students and their families. She particularly focused on the way some of the parents had benefited from the Women’s Empowerment Program. Through implementing the concepts taught through the business and enterprise training, these women were able to expand their business and help their whole family.

Light up Ahead School, the Women’s Empowerment Program and a Health Clinic were established by Swan Christian College to help vulnerable families affected by the HIV virus. Over 160 sponsors, primarily families from Swan Christian College, support over 200 children who receive education and daily meals. If you would like to know more about the project or sponsoring a child go to Swan Missions on the College website or email raymondh@scea.wa.edu.au.
