Join us for this year’s Junior School production, A Hairy Tale, a fun-filled retelling of the classic Rapunzel story. Performed by our talented Junior School students, this colourful, chaotic and hilarious fairy tale parody is brought to life through song, movement and drama. It’s a fast-paced production the whole family will enjoy.
Somewhere deep within the enchanted Wychwood Forest, two supremely spoiled royals lived a life of absolute luxury, until their bratty behaviour finally went too far. Banished from their home, Prince Rupert and Princess Iphigenia cannot return until they discover the true meaning of love and sacrifice. But surviving the wilderness is no easy task, especially when they crash into a haircut-evading Rapunzel, a trendy Big Bad Wolf, and peasant siblings who traded their family electronics for five highly questionable magic beans!
A Hairy Tale
Date: 13 and 14 October 2026
Time: 7:00pm
Venue: Maali Mia Theatre
Tickets: Book online at scea.me/hairytale2026 for the Early Bird discount until 25 September!

Last Friday 4 September, we celebrated our fantastic Swan Trade Training Centre (STTC) dads, grandfathers and guardians with a special Father’s Day breakfast.
Our guests enjoyed a delicious hot breakfast, thoughtfully prepared and served by our talented STTC Hospitality students and staff. STTC dads received bottle openers inscribed with ‘I love you Dad’ that were lovingly crafted by students. It was a wonderful time of connection and appreciation, recognising the important role fathers and father-figures play in the lives of our students and community.
We extend a warm thank you to all the STTC staff who helped make this day so memorable. Your effort and care created an event that was enjoyed by all who attended.

Today, our Senior School students took part in the Winter Woolies Salvos fundraiser (even though it’s spring), wearing their winter woolies to College and supporting a worthy cause.
Students were invited to bring a gold coin donation and/or a non-perishable food item, with donations collected throughout the morning.
Thank you to all students and families who supported the fundraiser and helped contribute to the work of The Salvation Army.

During Week 7, 17 Year 10 students and four staff headed off on the CAPS Impact Trip, beginning with an exciting journey on the Prospector to Kalgoorlie, where we were met by staff from CAPS Coolgardie. What followed was a wonderful week of connection, service, new experiences and plenty of fun.
Our time at CAPS Coolgardie included a fantastic bush day where students cooked kangaroo, caught yabbies, made bead jewellery, explored the bush and spent time together around the fires. Carnival fever followed the next day, with everyone dressing in team colours and heading to the local footy oval for tunnel ball, tug-of-war, long jump and running races. Our students certainly did Swan proud, but the real highlight was seeing all students encouraging one another, having a laugh and building new friendships.
We then headed to CAPS Kurrawang, where our Swannie students quickly bonded with the wonderful primary students. Another colourful carnival saw races held along the track beside the Goldfields pipeline, with Marlu taking out the win for the day. Our students then spent time helping in classrooms, playing with the younger students and being shown their cubbies in the surrounding bush. Some were even lucky enough to spot an owl nesting in one of the tree hollows!
There were so many moments in between that made the trip special – basketball most evenings, volleyball, piggyback rides, carrying little students around, an early morning sunrise along the cultural walk, and our evening shout-outs and devotions.
By Friday, it was time to pack up and begin the long trek home on the coach bus. There were plenty of tired faces after such a full week, but also many stories, laughs and memories to bring back to Swan. The CAPS Impact Trip was about much more than the activities we completed; it was about serving others, building relationships, learning from one another and making memories together.
A very special thank you goes to Mrs Coleman, Mr Eason and Mr Leaver, whose enthusiasm, care, encouragement and willingness to join in with everything helped make the trip such a wonderful experience. We could not have asked for a better team to share the adventure with!
Finally, a huge thank you to our Swan community for your support and, most importantly, for praying for us throughout our journey. We are incredibly grateful for the warm welcome shown to us by CAPS Coolgardie and CAPS Kurrawang and for an experience that our students will remember for many years to come.
