This week has provided many opportunities for students across the College to showcase their talents, serve others, and meet students from other SCEA schools. On Monday, Senior School students displayed their creativity and innovation at the Creative Lab Exhibition. Tuesday saw our Year 7 students compete in the ACC Football Carnival, while 188 prospective parents and students visited the College during our College Tour. On Wednesday, students participated in the SCEA Collective Choir Day and represented the College in the Eagles Schoolboys Cup.
Yesterday, students competed in the School Sport WA Secondary Champion Schools Netball Carnivals, while families enjoyed the Junior Instrumental Ensemble Performance Evening. Today, we welcomed families to our Family Breakfast and saw Junior School students continue their preparation for the Cross Country season through before-school training.

Students from Swan Christian College joined choir members from Ellenbrook Christian College, Mundaring Christian College, Northshore Christian Grammar School and Southern Hills Christian College on Wednesday for the inaugural SCEA Collective Choir Day, hosted at Swan Christian College.
Throughout the day, students participated in workshops focused on vocal skills, musicianship and ensemble performance, while building connections with fellow singers from across the SCEA network. A special highlight was a session with Perth artist and Australian Idol 2024 finalist Ondrea Onamade (Drea), who shared her experiences in the music industry and encouraged students to pursue their passions with courage and perseverance.
Dean of Instrumental Music Mr Kane Shaw said the event provided an opportunity to connect students across the association and strengthen the vibrant music communities within each College. Reflecting on the day, he said, “First and foremost, the day provided an opportunity to connect across our association and promote the strong music communities within each school into an SCEA-wide music community.”
The day included a combined choir performance, showcasing the students’ hard work and talent. It was a wonderful celebration of music, collaboration and community, and we look forward to seeing this event continue to grow in the years ahead.
Despite the cold and wet weather, a good number of families joined us for our College Family Breakfast this morning. From 7:30am, guests enjoyed a delicious selection of sweet and savoury breakfast options, all prepared and served by our talented Hospitality students.
Families gathered to connect, share a meal together and start the day in community, with many also stopping by How Ya Bean for a freshly brewed coffee. It was wonderful to see families enjoying the morning together and supporting this special College event.
Join us for a seven-week online marriage course for the Swan Christian College community, in partnership with Nations Church Belmont. Parents, staff and our Swan Christian College community are warmly invited to The Marriage Course.
The Marriage Course (created by Alpha International) is a seven-week online course designed to help married couples build strong foundations, improve communication, and grow closer. Each session gives you dedicated space to invest in your relationship in a relaxed, supportive setting.
The course will run Tuesday evenings from 4 August to 15 September online, 7:00pm-9:00pm, and will be facilitated by experienced and trained couples including senior pastors of Nations Church Belmont, Gareth and Jess Forsdike. The cost is $60 per couple and includes a journal for each participant.

This combined reunion marks the 40, 30, 20 and 10 year milestones for these graduating classes. It will be a relaxed sundowner where alumni can catch up, share stories and reflect on their time at the College.

On Thursday 21 May – Friday 22 May, the Year 4 students traded their school uniforms to become Heroes in Training throughout their camp. Heading down to Serpentine Baptist Camping Centre, the students undertook activities that required them to show courage, to have trust, to work as a team, and much more. Throughout the two days the Year 4s learned that not all heroes where capes, and using characters from the Bible the children explored a number of heroes and what we can learn from them to apply to our own lives.

We laughed, we got to know each other, we achieved things we didn’t think we could – and through it all we created memories! The food was delicious, the company was amazing, there wasn’t a huge amount of sleep (some less than others), and the teachers were in need of coffee. Through it all we had a wonderful time and know that we are going to be talking about this camp for many years to come. A massive thank you to our parents for allowing us to go.
The Maali Mia Theatre was filled with music and encouragement last night as families gathered for our Junior Ensembles Music Evening.
Students from the MS/JS Drum Corps, Avanti Choir, Year 4 String Ensemble, Piccolo Choir, JS Guitar Ensemble and Year 5/6 String Ensemble showcased the skills they have developed throughout the semester. Each performance reflected the hard work, dedication and enthusiasm of our young musicians.
Thank you to our students, staff and families for making the evening such a wonderful celebration of music and community.
On Monday evening, families and friends attended our Creative Lab Exhibition, showcasing the work of Year 10-12 students from Semester 1.
The exhibition featured student projects and performances from a range of areas, including performing arts, media, design, visual arts and digital technologies. It provided students with an opportunity to share their learning and creative work with the wider College community.
Thank you to everyone who attended and supported our students as they presented the results of their hard work throughout the semester.
On Tuesday 26 May, Year 10 students took part in our Try a Trade Day, spending the day exploring a range of practical trade pathways.
Students participated in hands-on sessions in Building and Construction, Electrotechnology, and Engineering – Heavy Metal Fabrication, giving them valuable insight into each industry. The day provided an opportunity to develop practical skills, learn from experienced trainers and explore future training and career options.
