Dear Parent/Guardian

Week 2 has been a full one, with students involved in a range of opportunities across the College. The Sound of No Music opened on Tuesday night to sold-out shows on all four nights, with audiences enjoying the cast’s slapstick humour, strong stage presence and excellent delivery of lines. OLNA also began for selected Year 10 to 12 students, while students represented the College in the Senior Eagles Schoolboys Cup across Years 8 to 12. Today has been especially busy, with Family Breakfast, the Parent Christian Life Committee Annual College Meeting and Parents in Partnership Meeting, the Senior House Cross Country Carnival and the closing night of The Sound of No Music.

Looking ahead, next week’s events include:

  • Monday: OLNA Round 1 continues

  • Tuesday: Junior School Mother’s Day Stall

  • Wednesday: Eagles Senior Schoolboys Cup

  • Thursday: Junior School WACSSA Soccer Year 6

  • Friday: Senior High Schools Ultimate Frisbee Championships; STTC Westrac Workshop Excursion; Junior School Mother’s Day Event.

ANZAC Day Assembly

Last Friday, our College community gathered to remember and honour those who have served.

We were privileged to hear from Member for Hasluck, Tania Lawrence, who shared a meaningful message with our students. Laura Kendall from the Royal Australian Navy also gave a meaningful message and led us in a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem.

The ceremony included beautiful choral music, the playing of The Last Post and The Rouse, creating a moment of quiet reflection across the College.

Lest we forget.

Month of Prayer for Schools

This May, churches across Western Australia are joining together for a Month of Prayer for Schools, praying for students, staff and families in their local communities.

We would love to invite families connected to local churches to share this opportunity with their church or leadership team. It is not too late for churches to be involved.

Churches can take part by:

  • Praying for local schools on a chosen day in May
  • Taking a few moments during a service to pray for their community
  • Using the daily prayer guide throughout the month
  • Remaining open to how God may lead beyond this time of prayer

Further details, including the prayer calendar and resources, are available here:
Month of Prayer Calendar

A flyer is also attached, which you are welcome to pass on to your church or leadership team.

In the lead-up to the Month of Prayer, several roundtable conversations with pastors and leaders were hosted in partnership with Cities of Hope. These may also be helpful for churches as they prepare to pray:

Thank you for helping us share this invitation with the wider Christian community.

Debating helps students build confidence, think clearly and speak well in front of others. It teaches them how to research, listen carefully, form strong arguments and respond respectfully to different points of view.
