Week 2 has been a full one, with students involved in a range of opportunities across the College. The Sound of No Music opened on Tuesday night to sold-out shows on all four nights, with audiences enjoying the cast’s slapstick humour, strong stage presence and excellent delivery of lines. OLNA also began for selected Year 10 to 12 students, while students represented the College in the Senior Eagles Schoolboys Cup across Years 8 to 12. Today has been especially busy, with Family Breakfast, the Parent Christian Life Committee Annual College Meeting and Parents in Partnership Meeting, the Senior House Cross Country Carnival and the closing night of The Sound of No Music.

Join us in the Gym on Friday 15 May, where the Cherry Steppers, a modern line dancing company, will be leading the charge in some boot-scootin’ fun.
Families from both the Junior and Senior Schools are invited to join in the festivities.
There will be face painting, hot jam donuts and an ice cream van on site to satisfy your sweet tooth. So bring along a picnic, chairs and rugs for a fantastic evening indoors. Don’t forget to dust off your best bushdance, country and western attire to add to the lively atmosphere. Let’s make this a night to remember!

Our Junior School community is warmly invited to a special Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea as we take time to honour and celebrate the important women in our students’ lives.
This is a lovely opportunity for mums and special guests to spend time with their children at the College, enjoy a light afternoon tea, and take part in classroom activities together. The afternoon reflects the heart behind Proverbs 31:28, “Her children arise and call her blessed.”

Year 5 and 6 students are invited to participate in a Debating Competition that will be held during lunch times on a Wednesday and Thursday and will start in Week 3 of this term. There will be prizes for the top two teams who win the Debating Competition.
Debating helps students build confidence, think clearly and speak well in front of others. It teaches them how to research, listen carefully, form strong arguments and respond respectfully to different points of view. These are valuable transferable skills for effective communication, learning, leadership and life beyond school.

Midland Perm-a-pleat has advised that all required winter uniform items are in stock, including tracksuits and Senior School ties.
Senior School students are expected to wear the full winter uniform from Monday 4 May. This includes wearing blazers at all times, except when participating in sport or for Swan Trade Training Centre students.

The Swan Trade Training Centre’s free Try a Trade Day is designed to empower young minds in Year 10 by providing a unique opportunity at Years 11 and 12 to delve into different trades and discover your true passions. Whether they are intrigued by the thought of Building and Construction/Carpentry, Engineering: Heavy Metal, or the exciting world of Electrotechnology, we have something just for your child to help them kick start their trade career.
