This week has been filled with a range of opportunities for our students across both Junior School and Senior School. On Monday, students represented the College in the Inter-school Cricket Competition. Tuesday saw selected Junior School students prepare for the Da Vinci Decathlon, where they were challenged academically and worked collaboratively. On Wednesday, our Year 7 to 9 students enjoyed a spirited Swimming Carnival, demonstrating House pride and perseverance. On Thursday evening, we valued the opportunity to connect with families at the Year 7 Parent Sundowner. Today, we recognised service and leadership at the Junior School Student Leaders Assembly.
Looking ahead, next week’s events include:
Monday: Parent Coffee and Connect; Cambodia Trip 2027 Parent Meeting
Tuesday: Year 7 to 9 NEAS Sport
Wednesday: Year 8 Parent Information Evening
Thursday: Junior School Swimming Carnival; Year 11 Global Leadership Summit
Friday: Student Free Day
In light of recent emergency notifications, we strongly encourage all parents and guardians to download the Orbit App and ensure notifications are turned on. The app is the College’s main way of sharing emergency notifications and important updates, as well as keeping you up to date.
Through Orbit, you will receive timely updates such as announcements, event reminders, urgent notices, attendance information and other important communications. Turning on immediate notifications on your phone settings for ParentOrbit ensures you do not miss time-sensitive messages, including changes to activities, weather updates or important alerts.
Check that the ParentOrbit notifications are set for Immediate Delivery in the settings on your phone (see image).
The app also provides convenient access to key information in one place, helping you stay informed and connected with the College throughout the year.
If you have not yet downloaded the Orbit App, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible and check that notifications are enabled in your phone settings. This will help ensure you receive important information when you need it.
Please head over to this page for assistance with downloading and installing ParentOrbit.
For students in Year 10, the new school year has brought with it more than just a change of classroom. Thanks to the wonderful efforts of the ICT team, students have received their new locked down MacBook or iPad prior to the start of term.
The Managed Device Program is an important step in strengthening online safety and enhancing learning in the classroom. Below is a quick guide to what families need to know.
While Apple devices are durable, accidental damage can occur. If your child’s device requires repair, the process is outlined below:
We appreciate your support in reinforcing careful handling, safe storage, and daily charging of student devices at home. Devices must always remain in their protective case and should not be transported loosely in school bags.
For questions about device repairs, please contact your School ICT Training and Support Technician.
AppleCare+ is included with all SCEA-leased devices and covers most accidental damage. It does not cover loss or theft. Under the Parent Agreement, families remain responsible for loss, theft, and damage not covered by warranty or AppleCare+.
As previously advised, families may wish to check whether their home contents policy provides cover for their child’s leased device. For those who prefer additional protection, SCEA now offers an optional three-year Theft and Loss Only Insurance Plan through Protecsure (single upfront payment).
This option is voluntary and does not change parental responsibility for device care. Cost and coverage details have been provided directly to participating families and are available online https://www.swan.wa.edu.au/resources/managed-device-program/
Families with SCEA-leased iPads can download the Jamf Parent App to support healthy device routines at home. The App works alongside SCEA’s device management system and cannot override protective settings. Parents can:
For more information about Jamf Parent App and the installed management software on your child’s leased device, refer to the video below.

We are excited to present Fenceline Theatre Company’s latest production, The Sound of No Music! Featuring our Senior School students, this promises to be a hilarious production.
What is it about?
This is a comic farce about a theatre company that has lost its money! In a desperate attempt to rebuild the coffers, they need a show in a hurry and decide to do a whodunnit mystery in an Austrian Abbey called The Sound of No Music. As the rehearsals commence, so does the chaos and the ensemble navigate their parody, while trying to find out where that money has gone.
Purchase your tickets now before Term 2 at discounted prices at The Sound of No Music.
Dates: Tues 28 April | Wed 29 April | Thurs 30 April | Fri 1 May | Saturday 2 May
Times: 7:15pm – 9:00pm
Venue: Maali Mia Theatre
Buy tickets at: The Sound of No Music

Our Junior School students continue to demonstrate the CHARIS virtues in their learning and relationships each day. House points are awarded throughout the week to recognise students who show character, kindness, responsibility and a positive attitude.
This week, Bell has taken the lead with 1,784 house points, averaging 15.92 points per student. It has been encouraging to see students across all Houses striving to live out the CHARIS virtues and support one another.
At the end of the term, the House with the highest number of points will receive a special reward. Well done to all students for the way they are living out our College virtues.
Thank you to the parents who attended the Year 7 Parent Sundowner yesterday in the Maali Room. As the sun set, we enjoyed music performed by talented student band, After Hours and delicious food prepared by the Swan Hospitality Team.
It was an encouraging community-building event as parents and staff engaged with one another.Â
