This week has provided many valuable opportunities for students across the College. On Monday, parents gathered for our Parent Coffee and Connect morning while STTC Year 12 students commenced their Work Experience placements. Students in Years 7 to 9 participated in NEAS Sport on Tuesday. Wednesday included the engaging Poetry in Action Incursion and the Eagles Senior Schoolboys Cup competition. Our Year 4 students also began their superhero-themed camp experience on Thursday, which will no doubt create many lasting memories. Today, students are representing the College at the Junior WACSSA AFL Carnival, while our Year 3 students are leading this afternoon’s assembly.
Looking ahead, next week’s events include:
Thank you for your patience and support as we continue adjusting to the traffic changes around the construction of the new Junior School Learning Precinct.
Please see the reminders below to help traffic move safely and smoothly around the College.
Senior School Parents: Please do not use the new Kiss and Drive area next to the Junior School Oval. This area needs to stay clear so buses can leave the College safely and on time. Instead, please use the parent parking bays at the front of the College.
We also ask students travelling on buses to make sure they tag on and off every day. Transperth uses this information to decide how many buses are needed for the College. When students do not tag on or off, it can lead to buses becoming overcrowded.
Junior School Parents: When using the new Kiss and Drive area, please drive all the way forward to the front bollards before stopping. This helps keep traffic moving and allows more cars to enter the area safely.
Thank you again for your cooperation and support.

We are looking for parent volunteers to assist in the Secondhand Uniform Shop on Wednesday mornings from 8:00am-9:00am during term.
If you are available to help, we would greatly appreciate your support. Volunteering is a wonderful way to serve our College community and connect with other parents.
Please contact Helen Gilson or Lorilei Auld at parentchristianlifecommittee@scea.wa.edu.au if you are able to assist.
Families from across the Swan community came together last Friday evening on 15 May for a wonderful night of fun and fellowship at the Community Bushdance.
The Gym was filled with energy as the Cherry Steppers led students, parents and staff through a variety of lively dances. From seasoned dancers to complete beginners, everyone was encouraged to join in, creating plenty of laughter and memorable moments throughout the night.
Families relaxed with picnic dinners, rugs and camping chairs while enjoying hot jam donuts, ice cream and face painting. The Gym was turned into a rustic-style event hall, complete with festoon lights and hay bales. Western-inspired outfits, including cowboy hats and boots, added an extra touch of fun to the evening.
The Community Bushdance was a fantastic celebration of connection and community spirit, and it was wonderful to see so many families enjoying time together.

Please save the date for our upcoming College Photo Days, which will take place on Thursday 18 June and Friday 19 June in Week 9.
Ordering envelopes have been sent home this week with all the details needed to place your order.
We look forward to capturing these special moments for our students.

On Thursday 21 May, our Year 4 students headed off on their much-anticipated Superhero Adventure Camp. Excitement has been building across the year group, and students were eager to begin their two-day adventure as “Heroes in Training”.
Students took part in a range of fun and engaging activities while learning what it means to be true heroes through teamwork, courage, kindness and faith.
Returning today, we pray all students and staff had a safe and enjoyable camp, and a wonderful time building friendships and making memories together.

5B students enjoyed a special classroom visit on Week 3 of Term 2, with six-week-old chickens kindly brought in by one of our families. The students had the opportunity to hold, feed, and closely observe the chickens as they moved together as a flock.
It was a fantastic hands-on learning experience and sparked lots of curiosity and excitement in the classroom. We look forward to seeing how they continue to grow!
Sports Plus Perth will once again be running its six-day Intensive Residential Camp from 5-10 July 2026 at Swan Valley Adventure Centre for students in Years 7-12.
The camp provides students with the opportunity to grow in their chosen sport through specialist coaching while also building friendships and enjoying time in a positive Christian community environment. Sports on offer include basketball, netball, cricket, soccer, triathlon, rugby and more.
Alongside sport and team competitions, students are encouraged to explore what it means to live out their faith both on and off the field.
Further information and registrations can be found through Sports Plus Perth.
The BIG BATTLE… of the Bands!
What an incredible event. Drumroll please… a rock concert in the Maali Mia Theatre on a school day!
The student bands were outstanding, with five bands performing to an enthusiastic crowd – four from Swan and one from Northshore Christian Grammar School. The standard of performance was exceptionally high, and it was wonderful to see students confidently sharing their musical talents on stage. We hope all participants enjoyed the experience and benefited from the opportunity to perform live in front of an audience.
In the end, there had to be a winner – always a difficult moment in artistic endeavours – and the honours went to Astrada from Northshore Christian Grammar School. Congratulations!
Congratulations also to Swan’s 2026 Arts Captains, Joshua J and Sebastian W, for organising such a successful event.
A special thank you to our judges – professionals from the music industry from around the world – for sharing their time and expertise. We also thank Swan staff for their support in making the event possible, especially Dr Beck, Mr Shaw and Mr Perin.
