Limited places are available for Year 3 in 2026, 2027 and 2028.

The Junior School Music Eisteddfod is almost here! Students in Years 3 to 6 will take to the stage to showcase their musical progress at the Maali Mia Theatre on Thursday 14 May.
The day will be broken into three sessions:
This is a wonderful occasion for students to display the hard work and dedication they have brought to their instrumental and vocal studies throughout the term. Parents and caregivers are warmly invited to attend and share in the celebration. We look forward to a day full of music, encouragement, and community.

Chess Club is running during Junior School lunch times throughout Term 2. Students of all skill levels are welcome to join, whether they are learning the game for the first time or looking to improve their strategy and problem-solving skills.
Students who are interested in participating can speak to Mr Pengilly.

Year 5 and 6 students are invited to participate in a Debating Competition that will be held during lunch times on a Wednesday and Thursday and will start in Week 3 of this term. There will be prizes for the top two teams who win the Debating Competition.
Debating helps students build confidence, think clearly and speak well in front of others. It teaches them how to research, listen carefully, form strong arguments and respond respectfully to different points of view. These are valuable transferable skills for effective communication, learning, leadership and life beyond school.
Limited spots available. Please register by Tuesday Week 3 at the link below.

Our Rookie Debating Club is up and running again and has made a strong start to the term. Students have shown tremendous enthusiasm, often arriving well before 8.00am, keen and prepared to engage in debating activities.
This term, the club’s focus is on ethics, with our formal debate topic for the term being:
“Anne Frank’s diary should never have been published.”
In exploring this topic, students are investigating the historical significance of personal narratives while thoughtfully examining the ethical tensions surrounding privacy, consent, and posthumous publication. The discussions so far have demonstrated impressive maturity and depth of thinking.
In addition, a selected group of Year 10 students has been nominated to participate in the Ethics Olympiad Competition on Thursday, 28 May 2026. This is a prestigious opportunity that allows students to explore ethical theories and engage in rich, respectful dialogue with peers from across Australia, New Zealand, and the Asia–Pacific region. This year, the team will be competing against 415 national and international teams.
Preparation sessions are already underway, with students undertaking an intensive study of ethical frameworks that can be applied to the 2026 case Cases. The Ethics Olympiad has a strong reputation for providing both students and teachers with a challenging and creative platform to develop communication skills, critical thinking, and principled reasoning, while grappling with contemporary moral dilemmas.
If you would like to find out more about Debating Club please contact Miss Erasmus.
Last Thursday, 30 April, students from Swan Beekeeping enjoyed a hands-on honey extraction session in our commercial kitchen.
Students learned a range of valuable skills, including how to identify when honey is ready to harvest, how to uncap honey frames, how to use a honey extractor, and how to strain and package honey safely. They also learned about general food hygiene throughout the process.
The group harvested an impressive 35kg of honey, and a sticky but very enjoyable time was had by all.
To find out more about Beekeeping please get in touch with Mr Leaver.
