What curriculum does the school use?
Swanonline is subschool of Swan Christian College and follows Swan Christian College's curriculum structure. Each unit is designed to reflect and match relevant learning outcomes.
Where are the courses from?
All courses have been designed and developed by teachers, reflecting National Curriculum and Western Australian Judging Standards. All courses fit into accredited guidelines.
Are there any exams or assessments and how do I do them?
Each subject has a set of assignments that vary from practical activities, visual tasks to discussion forums and written tasks. Assignment tasks are published at the beginning of each semester. For Swanonline students, tests and assignments can generally be completed at home under parent supervision. For examinations, students are required to come on campus, otherwise they need an approved supervisor that can supervise the exam at home.
Do I have to sit the National Program for Literacy and Numeracy (Naplan) tests?
Yes, these are compulsory tests and as part of a registered school our students are required to sit these tests.
What are the core subjects in Years 7-10?
English, Mathematics, Science, HASS and Health. Christian Living is a compulsory subject.
Can I go through to Year 12 online?
Many of our students successfully complete Year 11 and Year 12 through Swanonline.
Can I get my WACE with Swanonline?
Swanonline offers both ATAR and General subjects. There is a variety of options and different pathways available to achieve your WACE, depending on what courses are studied. Part of this process involves meeting with each individual family to discuss and determine a pathway that best suits your desired goal.
