What curriculum does the school use?
Swanonline is part of Swan Christian College and uses the Western Australian Curriculum. Each unit is designed to reflect and match relevant learning outcomes.
Where are the courses from?
All courses have been designed and developed by teachers, reflecting National Curriculum and Western Australian Judging Standards. All courses fit into accredited guidelines.
Are there any exams or assessments and how do I do them?
Each subject has a set of assignments that vary from practical activities, visual tasks to discussion forums and written tasks. Assignment tasks are published at the beginning of each semester. Distance students are not required to attend school for formal exams, however if they choose to we can arrange for this.
Do I have to sit the National Program for Literacy and Numeracy (Naplan) tests?
Yes, these are compulsory tests and as part of a registered school our students are required to sit these tests.
What are the core subjects in Years 7-10?
English, Mathematics, Science, HASS.
Can I go through to Year 12 online?
Many of our students successfully complete Year 11 and Year 12 through Swanonline.
Can I get my WACE and ATAR with Swanonline?
Swanonline offers both WACE and ATAR subjects. There are a variety of options and different pathways available to achieving your WACE or ATAR depending on subjects studied. Part of this process involves meeting with each family to discuss and determine a pathway that best suits your desired goal.
