How Swan TTC Works

The Swan Trade Training Centre (STTC) is a state-of-the-art facility which offers Certificate II Pre-apprenticeship courses in Building and Construction, Electrotechnology, and Engineering (Heavy Fabrication)

These are two-year programs for Years 11 and 12 that allow students to successfully complete a trade certificate course, while also learning all the required subjects such as English and Maths to graduate with their WACE and completing a Certificate III in Business.

Students attend the STTC full time, completing their Pre-apprenticeship course as approximately one-third of their academic program. Work experience will be completed in one-week blocks every term.

Students at the Swan Trade Training Centre will continue to participate in all House-based pastoral activities including sports carnivals, College assemblies, camps and the Year 12 Charity Ball. Students also have the opportunity to participate in Service Learning and wellbeing activities such as the annual Philippines Impact Trip. Selected students are involved in the College student leadership programs.

Example timetable

Please refer to the sample timetable of a Year 12 Electrotechnology student below to get an impression of our students' daily routine. Timetables for Building & Construction and Engineering (Heavy Fabrication) are built on the exact same structure.
