Want a career in trades but not sure where to start?
If you’re in Year 10, this is your chance to get hands-on with real tools at Swan Trade Training Centre’s Try a Trade Day on Friday 6 June.
The Swan Trade Training Centre’s free Try a Trade Day is designed to empower young minds in Year 10 by providing a unique opportunity at Years 11 and 12 to delve into different trades and discover your true passions. Whether they are intrigued by the thought of Building and Construction/Carpentry, Engineering: Heavy Metal, or the exciting world of Electrotechnology, we have something just for your child to help them kick start their trade career.
The Swan Trade Training Centre will be hosting a free Try a Trade Day on Friday 6 June. This is open to all students who are currently completing Year 10 at Swan Christian College or any other school in Western Australia.
Try a Trade seeks to:
- Motivate students through a fun, hands-on experience in Building and Construction, Electrotechnology and Engineering: Heavy Metal Fabrication.
- Share current and honest information about future career choices.
- Show participants that skill, education and training offer real choices for the future.
- Allow students to meet and talk with trade professionals, apprentices, VET teachers/trainers/lecturers and local industry people.

I’ve registered, what happens now?
Registrations close on Friday 30 May, and students selected to attend the Try a Trade Day will receive an invitation by email on Tuesday, 3 June confirming attendance and any further information regarding the day.
Please note that this expression of interest does not secure placement for the event. You will receive an email of confirmation after the closing date.

About the Swan Trade Training Centre
The Swan Trade Training Centre (STTC) is a sub school of Swan Christian College and provides quality trade and hospitality training in an innovative and supportive school-based environment.
WACE courses are delivered by highly qualified and experienced trade and hospitality trainers in ways that connect students with their chosen trades thereby increasing relevance and engagement.
The purpose-built Swan Trade Training Centre opened in 2012 on the Swan Christian College campus.
We provide quality trade and hospitality training and career pathways in an innovative and supportive school-based environment.
