Last Wednesday evening, we held our annual Fathers Night celebrations in the Junior School.
The Kindergarten to Year 2 classes were involved in special performance presentations to their dads in the Maali Mia. The night began with a sausage sizzle and then students walked their dads to their classrooms to showcase work and portfolios. In anticipation for their big night, the students had prepared special gifts for their fathers, including refurbished hand made ties and pop stick box treasures!
Father’s Night is a great opportunity for all those dads who aren’t able to come to the College during school hours. Teachers value this time to connect and share with them a snippet of their child’s journey and as always the children were very excited to show their dads around their class and present them with their gift. This night holds a special place on the College calendar, as we use this opportunity to celebrate fatherhood and the wonderful community we have here at Swan.
We would like to say a big thank you to the families who helped with all the behind the scenes cooking and preparations and taking photos. Our night was made even more special this year by two of our wonderful dads, Dan Taylor and Rowan Johnson who shared from their hearts about life and fatherhood. A big thank you to them.
