Our Year 6 students are currently in Canberra and Sydney for their interstate tour, which began on Sunday 22 June and concludes on Saturday 28 June. The week has been filled with hands-on learning, early mornings, and opportunities to grow through adventure, reflection, and challenge.
Each day is guided by a word from the GROWTH theme: Generosity, Resilience, Ownership, Wisdom, Truth and Honour. This structure has helped students reflect on their experiences and character along the way.
Generosity – Shown from the beginning as students flew with strangers, showing patience and kindness through long travel days.
Resilience – Evident during snow play, early 5:30am starts, and winding bus rides that tested a few stomachs but not their spirits.
Ownership – Demonstrated during activity rotations at Questacon and Treetops, where students took initiative and worked well in teams.
Wisdom – Explored at Parliament House, where students considered leadership and wise choices in Australia’s democracy.
Today, the focus is on:
Truth – As students learn about the history of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and reflect on Australia’s national story.
Still to come:
Honour – A visit to Taronga Zoo and The Rocks will help students consider how we respect others and the world around us.
Growth – On their final day, students will tour the Sydney Opera House, visit Bondi Beach, and look back on a week of personal and shared growth before flying home.
Despite the occasional rain, students have shown great attitude and enthusiasm throughout. We look forward to welcoming them home on Saturday with many stories and memories to share.
