This week has seen a strong focus on community spirit and academic excellence. On Monday, we welcomed parents to our Parents in Partnership Morning Tea. Our Junior School students enjoyed sunshine and school spirit at the Year 1 to 6 Cross Country on Wednesday, showing great determination and sportsmanship. Academic excellence was celebrated with special lunches recognising our high-achieving Year 7 to 9 students on Tuesday, followed by our Year 10 to 12 students on Wednesday. Yesterday evening, we were pleased to connect with families at the Year 5 Camp Parent Meeting. Our Senior Boys Soccer team were victorious playing against Chisholm Catholic College in their ‘Round of 16’ ACC Championship match yesterday afternoon. Today marks the Federal Government School Census Day, and we thank all families for ensuring children are at school on time or reporting any absences to Student Services, to help guide national education policy and funding.
Next week, students in Years 4 to 12 will begin completing the Wellbeing and Engagement Census in class. Parents will also receive the SCEA Community Engagement Survey – your feedback is vital in shaping our College experience.Â
"The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing."
This is a reminder to all parents and caregivers that ACROD parking bays are reserved exclusively for vehicles displaying a valid ACROD permit. These bays are in place to support individuals who require accessible parking due to mobility challenges.
Using these bays without a permit prevents those with genuine need – whether visitors or other parents – from being able to access appropriate parking. We ask for your cooperation in ensuring these spaces remain available for those who rely on them.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping us uphold a respectful and inclusive environment at the College.
We would like to remind families not to park on or use the Stefanelli Group’s private property located across the road from the College for drop-off, pick-up, or turning around. This property is privately owned and not intended for public use, and unauthorised access is creating difficulties for the business operating there.
We ask for your cooperation in respecting our neighbours by using designated College parking areas only. Thank you for helping us maintain positive relationships within our community.
Today is School Census Day.
Schools in Western Australia work through two Census Days each year – State Census in February and the combined State and Federal Census in August.
Census enables the government to learn more about Australian schools. The data collected helps determine funding for schools and supports the development of informed and tailored education policies.
It is important that all students are at school on Friday 1 August for the Census.Â
If your child was absent today, please report it through ParentOrbit App or email Student Services at studentservices@swan.wa.edu.au  as soon as possible.
Thank you for your continued support and for ensuring that your child was accounted for on this important day.
Over the coming weeks, students and parents will be invited to participate in several surveys designed to support student wellbeing and strengthen community engagement.
In Week 3, students from both the Junior and Senior Schools will complete the Wellbeing and Engagement Census during class time. This WA Government survey gives students in Years 4 to 12 the opportunity to share their experiences and perspectives on wellbeing and engagement at school. Topics include social and emotional wellbeing, school relationships, learning, physical health, and after-school activities. All responses are confidential and will not be used to identify individual students.
On Week 3, students will also be invited to complete the UWA Wellbeing Research Survey. Students can opt-out of this survey if they choose to. An email to parents will be sent next week with more information about this survey.
Also in Week 3, parents will receive an invitation to complete the SCEA Community Engagement Survey. Your feedback is highly valued and helps us better understand and respond to the needs of our families.
Below is a summary of the upcoming surveys:
Week | Survey Name | Who It’s For |
3 | Wellbeing and Engagement Census | Students (Years 4 – 12) |
3 ongoing | UWA Wellbeing Research Survey | Students (Years 7 – 12) |
3 | SCEA Community Engagement Survey | Parents |
4 | SCEA Community Engagement Survey | Senior School Students |

Please keep an eye on your inbox for the Community Engagement parent survey link arriving in Week 3. We look forward to hearing your thoughts as we work together to enrich the learning experience for all Swan Christian College families.

Our Pre Primary to Year 6 Cross Country Carnival on Wednesday 30 July was a wonderful event as students gave their all and cheered on their classmates.
With clear skies and bright smiles, students were ready for a day full of energy and excitement.
This year brought some changes to the course, adding a little extra challenge and adventure for our runners. While there were a few nervous faces at the starting line, those quickly turned into determination and pride as students gave it their all and cheered each other on.
It was a wonderful display of resilience, teamwork, and school spirit. A big thank you to all the families who came out to support – and to our amazing students for making the day so special!

We’re excited to invite families to this year’s Junior School production, Hop It, Poppit!, presented by Fenceline Theatre. This original performance promises a delightful mix of humour, heart and important life lessons.
What it’s about
Somewhere far, far away, a king and a queen lived in a castle, surrounded by their royal subjects – except the subjects were not so loyal. The people of the kingdom had grown tired of their king’s unkindness. Over time, he had become harsh and cruel, ignoring the queen’s gentle warnings. Then one day, something strange happened: the prince mysteriously turned into a frog and hopped right out of the kingdom!
Our Junior School students will bring this colourful and meaningful story to life through song, movement and drama. It’s a production the whole family will enjoy.
Earlybird Special
Take advantage of earlybird pricing if you book before 26 September.

On Thursday 7 August (next week), Senior School students are invited to wear their warmest winter clothes (fleecy tracksuits, hoodies, ugg boots, beanies and more) for a gold coin donation, a non-perishable food item or a new piece of winter clothing.
All donations will go to the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal. If your child has sport, they may change into sports uniform for that lesson time. Please be aware that all clothing must be appropriate for school.
This week, the top 10 students from each year group who received the most commendations were recognised for their outstanding effort and attitude.
On Tuesday, students from Years 7 to 9 enjoyed a special lunch in the Maali Room, followed by Years 10 to 12 on Wednesday. The lunches were prepared and served by our Hospitality kitchen, adding an extra touch of excellence to the occasion.
Congratulations to all students who were acknowledged for consistently demonstrating commitment and positive behaviour across the term.
What a game! Yesterday, the Senior Boys Soccer Team faced Chisholm Catholic College on the front oval in their ACC Championship ‘Round of 16’ match. With two star players unavailable, others had the chance to step up – and they did.
After 50 minutes of intense play (2 x 25 minutes), including a game-saving deflection from keeper Ben G in the final minutes, the score was locked at 0-0. The match went straight to penalties. At 4-4, Levi T took the final kick. Calm and focused, he scored, sending Swan into the quarterfinals and sparking wild celebrations from teammates and supporters.
The atmosphere was electric, with students, parents and staff cheering alongside a lively student ‘cheer squad’ complete with drums and chants.
The boys now look ahead to the quarterfinals next week, with an away match against Aranmore Catholic College.
