On Friday 15 August 2025, Swan Christian College was proud to host the Jobs Galore 2025 business breakfast, drawing nearly 500 guests to the College Gymnasium. The event, supported by the Swan Chamber of Commerce, welcomed around 200 students from Swan Christian College, SCEA schools, and neighbouring public and private schools. Guests included the Mayor of the City of Swan, Tanya Richardson, along with employers and business professionals from across the region.

This year, guests were greeted on arrival by an impressive display of supercars from Carco, one of the event sponsors. Vehicles including a McLaren and a Mercedes lined the Gym entrance, sparking plenty of conversation before the morning began. Last year’s helicopter landing set a high bar for memorable entrances, and this year’s golden Lamborghini arrival from keynote speaker Daniel Davies certainly matched the sense of excitement.

The program was hosted by Mike Matich, Owner of The Crooked Spire, who served as MC. Principal Dr Darnelle Pretorius opened the morning in prayer, followed by a welcome from Mrs Michelle Maynard, Member for Swan Hills. Michelle shared her personal journey of entering the workforce, working hard, and eventually becoming self‑employed.

Daniel Davies, Executive General Manager of Carco, delivered the keynote address, encouraging students with his own story of growing up in Kalgoorlie and working his way to leadership. His message of perseverance and determination resonated strongly, and a lively Q&A session followed, with students asking thoughtful questions.

Mr Joseph Carter, Business Teacher at Swan, attended with 30 of his students and reflected: “The students evidently enjoyed participating and reported making formative contact with business leaders.”

The morning was once again catered by the Swan Hospitality Team, who provided a quality breakfast that impressed guests and students alike.

The Jobs Galore Breakfast continues to be a valuable platform for students to engage with industry professionals, broaden their aspirations, and begin building networks that could shape their future pathways.
