On 24 June, a group of 26 students and seven staff travelled to Cambodia to work with RAW Impact. The trip began with a day of learning about the country’s culture and history, helping the team understand the context and challenges faced by local communities.
The group worked in a village called EPM (Every Piece Matters), where they contributed to the expansion of a local playground. Together, they built a perimeter wall, installed a fireman’s pole, a suspension bridge, a climbing wall and a platform. Some team members also assisted in constructing a temporary learning centre for the village.
Later in the trip, the group helped with work on an accommodation centre in another province.
The tour concluded with a couple of days in Siem Reap, where students explored local temples and markets. A highlight was visiting a youth centre, where they had the opportunity to speak with local young people and gain insight into life in Cambodia.
