On Friday 21 November, our Kindergarten students were thrilled by a surprise visit from local police officers, Sergeant Cooper and Cadet Gerard. The officers spoke with the children about the important work the police do in keeping our community safe and responding to emergencies.
The visit sparked plenty of curiosity, with students asking thoughtful (and sometimes funny!) questions such as, “What do you carry?”, “Do you feed the people you arrest?”, and “Do you chase baddies?” The highlight for many was getting to explore the police car and hearing the lights and sirens up close.
Through this engaging visit, our Kindergarten students learned that police officers are friendly, helpful members of our community. Some even shared that they hope to become cadets or officers one day so they can help others too.
It was a wonderful learning experience that reminded our students about the importance of safety, service, and caring for the people around us.
