On Wednesday, 12 November, a select group of Year 10 Business students, accompanied by Mrs Pollard and Miss Harris, attended the Swan Chamber of Commerce ‘Hour of Power’ event at The Crooked Spire in Midland.
This monthly networking event brings together members of the local business community, and students had the opportunity to hear from two inspiring guest speakers, Mr Guanhao Cheng, journalist with The Echo newspaper, and Mr Adam Desmond, founder of Binar Futures and owner of Desi’s Dry Cleaners. Both speakers reflected on their long-standing ties to the Midland area and spoke about how their early experiences shaped their careers and community involvement.
Students were warmly welcomed by local business owners and enjoyed valuable conversations after the session, building the beginnings of meaningful connections with professionals in the community.
We look forward to continuing this partnership and returning to the ‘Hour of Power’ in 2026.
