In Kindergarten, students are learning to retell the story of The Little Red Hen as part of the Talk for Writing program. Mrs Strang puts on her storytelling hat as the children enthusiastically join in to tell the story together. Through storytelling, students are learning key connectives such as “Early one morning” and “Who”.

The students can now confidently retell the story, including the amusing moments when the animals refuse to help and the Little Red Hen decides not to share her bread. The story also led to meaningful discussions about kindness, helping others and working together.
