On Tuesday 7 September, Year 3 had a wonderful day visiting Pump Station 1 at Mundaring Weir to see the start of the C.Y. O’Connor pipeline that the students have been learning about this term.

“We learned about what life was like for people living on the goldfields, from maids to Mexican immigrants! We explored the boiler and engine rooms, seeing inside the machinery and learning how steam can power a huge water pump. Finally, we climbed 200 steps to the top dam wall and were able to see the dam at the fullest it will ever be again! We definitely recommend you take your family for a visit.”
