Harvest for the Homeless

The pre-primary students at Swan Christian College had the pleasure of harvesting vegetables that they have grown as a part of their early learning curriculum.

They have also been able to incorporate these activity into the Service Learning curriculum by giving the produce that they harvested to the Super Soupers program. Each month a group of staff and students from the Senior school cook approx. 250l of soup for the Salvation Army to give out to the homeless in our city.

It is great to see the excitement on the preprimary children’s faces when they pulled up the potatoes that they planted. Thank you toMrsPatel and Miss Dallo for giving the students this opportunity to give back to the community.  The hope is that through the K -12 service learning program, the students at Swan Christian College will grow in their character and recognize the need to share God’s Love with the world around them.
