To kick off Term 2, the Year 2 students held a multicultural food fair! Parent helpers came and ran food stations, as well as shared fun facts about the different places.
The students tried a variety of traditional cuisines including Scotland, Chile, United States of America, South Africa, Italy, France and many more. They also enjoyed some simple origami from their Japanese teacher, Miss Aviana Francis. We had so much fun and the students all tuned in to the wonderful learning that will take place throughout the term.
The Bible says in Psalm 139, that “You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
This term, as we explore other cultures and countries around the world, we will look through the lens of this verse at how God has created all of us and that we are unique. We will celebrate differences and focus on how we all need each other!
A special thank you to all of those who volunteered on the day and contributed a dish from their culture. It was definitely a day to remember!
