The Year 1s came to school with crazy, spacey hair ready to engage in a fun and informative SciTech Space Dome session and challenging STEM task.
The students worked in groups of two or three to design a shelter for an astronaut to live on Mars. Then the test stage began! Could their shelter withstand Mars’ strong cyclonic winds? Yes! Many of the students’ designs did.
We were so proud of the students’ ability to demonstrate Swan behaviours, work collaboratively, think innovatively and ask excellent inquiry-based questions.
This Wow Day and incursion has created a new buzz and excitement for our World of Wonder topic this term! What a wonderful day!
