It was the first time that our Year 7 students participated in the Lightning Carnival. The carnival was a time of getting to know others in the year group, having fun and growing as a team.
Students chose from a range of sports: Ultimate Frisbee, netball, touch football (with an NRL base), soccer; spending the day in a series of quick-fire, round-robin competitions. The almost universal response to the event from students was that they had fun! It was a great joy to visit them on the day.
As a result of the carnival’s success, the Middle School leadership team has decided that the Lightning Carnival should be an annual feature of the College calendar.
Special thanks to Mr Ben Allsop and the ever-energetic Year 7 and PE staff who shepherded our young people on the day.
