Congratulations to the Swan Christian College LEGO League team who competed in the Regional LEGO League Tournament at Aveley Secondary College today and won the Innovative Idea Award.
Students from Year 6 to Year 10 make up the team. The tournament involved students working together to solve real-world problems using a variety of skills, these included creativity, teamwork and problem-solving.
The competition included creating a robot to solve a robot challenge, working together as a team and creating a presentation to a panel of judges to solve a real-life problem. The topic this year was:
(1) Identify areas where people can play and be more active
(2) Design a solution
(3) Share the solution with others and then refine it
The students have worked well to prepare for the competition and we are all thrilled about the results!
We have also been invited to attend the National Championships next Saturday 12 December at Curtin University and the students are very excited!
