New Life Christmas Hampers

Christmas is quickly approaching and with it comes exciting events and celebrations. This year, the College wishes to continue spreading this joy to families in the local community who are experiencing difficult circumstances. We are partnering with local registered charity, New Life Welfare (WA) Inc, to provide Christmas hampers/emergency relief for people in need who live in Midland and surrounding suburbs. As part of their Service Learning for the year, students will be helping to collect items and pack the hampers. Please support them by donating items to this cause.

Junior School
Each classroom will have its own special collection basket which you will find either outside the door or at the front of the classroom. There will also be a basket inside Junior Student Services.

Senior School
Baskets will be placed in several locations around the College. Look out for grey baskets, which will be labelled.

Below are some ideas of items you may wish to contribute:

  • Christmas food (mince pies, Christmas cake/puddings, chocolates, biscuits, tinned ham/tuna/salmon)
  • General pantry items (non-perishable, tinned fruit/vegetables, rice, pasta, sauces, crackers)
  • Drinks (non-alcoholic), cordial, soft drink
  • (Long-life) Milk, custard, cream

The baskets will be emptied regularly, with final collection on Friday 9 December. Through our generous Swan College community, we can assist New Life Welfare in ‘sharing God’s love in a practical way’ and develop links with the local community.

Thank you in advance for joining us as we work together to bring joy to our local community this Christmas.
