Middle and Senior School students are invited to take part in the Swan Best Writer competition and win a $50 first prize ($25 runner up).
Students who would like to take part in the competition need to submit a short story of less than 500 words on any topic in any genre. Previous classwork accepted.
All short stories must be emailed to andrew.matthews@scea.wa.edu.au by 5:00pm on 9 November with the Subject Line: Swan Best Writer: [name]
Guidelines
- Although challenging issues and topics are encouraged, graphic sexual references, violence, language or drug use will not be accepted.
- Word count MUST be included (the title is not part of the word count).
- All entrants will need to sign a statement confirming that the work is their own.
- Appropriate story writers will be invited to develop their story for competitions beyond the College and/or as a short film script under the guidance of Mr Matthews.
