On Friday 28 March, a group of enthusiastic Year 8–9 girls represented Swan Christian College at the Freo Dockers Cup football (AFL) carnival, held at Jubilee Reserve in Eden Hill.
The carnival focused on fun and participation, with 12-a-side matches played on smaller fields to encourage inclusive and active involvement. Despite the hot conditions, the team embraced the challenge, with shorter 10-minute halves and breaks between games offering some welcome relief.
Across the day, the team played five games, coming away with two wins and three losses. The girls represented the College with energy and integrity, displaying great teamwork and sportsmanship throughout.
Standout players on the day included Macey, Bailey and Evelyn. A big thank you also goes to Maisie and Sahara, who kept the team hydrated as water carriers—an especially important role given the heat. Special thanks to Mrs McMinn for her support on the day, both as assistant coach and team photographer.
Well done to all involved for a great day of footy and fantastic College representation.
