This Year, College parent Wayne Manoni has volunteered to be our Quiz Master for the Fundraising Quiz Night on 14 June. Mr Ray Hockley, Head of Service Learning, caught up with Wayne and asked him a few questions to find out more about him and his involvement with Quiz Nights:
Wayne, how long have you been a parent at Swan Christian College and why did you choose Swan for your daughter?
Jess entered into Year 9 at the start of the year. We had moved down from the country (Merredin) two years earlier and wanted a larger Christian School with more options/opportunities for her. Heard all good reports about Swan and believed its heritage was a strong Christian one.
What experience do you have with Quiz Nights?
I have done a number of them. As an auctioneer it is a natural fit, except you don’t take as much money off people.
What do you need to make a great Quiz Night?
Keen participants who like a bit of a competitive environment, good prizes, questions that are varied in subject so that everyone can answer something. Good nibbles and drinks have also been helpful.
Why did you choose to support this Quiz Night?
We are keen to help where we can, obviously the cause is an awesome one!! The Zambia Trip will be such a great life experience for those attending and potentially life changing. If we can have a fun night and support these types of initiatives at the same time, it’s a win-win situation!
Wayne what would you say to someone who is thinking of coming on the night?
Get a team of friends and come along. It’s guaranteed to be a fun and entertaining evening. Again, the cause is also one worth supporting, as well as the school and all it does. Who knows, you may even win some great prizes!!
