Mixed Results in NEAS Grand Finals – A Day of Heart and Determination

It was a day of highs and lows for our Senior School teams in the NEAS Grand Finals on 1 April.

Our Year 7–9 Ultimate Frisbee team faced Swan Valley Anglican in a thrilling match that had everyone on edge. After a tightly contested game, the scores were locked at 9–9 at full time, sending the match into ‘golden goal’ extra time. Sadly, Swan Valley scored first, narrowly claiming the championship with a 10–9 win. While it wasn’t the result we hoped for, our team should be proud of their unbeaten run leading up to the final and their strong spirit throughout.

In better news, our Year 7 Girls Basketball team secured a memorable victory against the undefeated Helena College, finishing 28–16. Despite being short-handed—with only one player on the bench and two key players missing—the team showed determination and composure from start to finish. They played with heart and sportsmanship and represented the College with excellence.

Please join us in congratulating both teams on their efforts and sportsmanship. It’s moments like these that reflect the resilience, teamwork and integrity we value at Swan Christian College.
