Trauma in children significantly disturbs their sense of safety and normalcy, leading to substantial emotional and behavioural changes. Such disturbances often result from exposure to traumatic events, which may be exacerbated by continuous media coverage. This exposure can trigger stress, anxiety, and trauma, with varying recovery timelines due to the unpredictable nature of trauma's impact.

In Year 6, students are afforded the opportunity to be a part of the design process for their leavers jackets.  Students submit their ideas and their peers will vote on the designs put forward.  The creativity of the students, whether they have worked on the design individually, or as part of a group, is amazing!

Schools are special places and nowhere is there such a clear example of a connected community as at a school. This connection is not only related to the physical space but also to the common understanding of why each family gathers at this place every school day; to engage in education. All members of the school community subscribe to a common mission, vision, and values and share hopes and dreams in a purpose to lead and guide children to responsible adulthood, to be engaged and active citizens. At Swan Christian College, we aspire to see each of our students and families thrive, understanding that we shine because we are created in the image of God.
