At Swan Christian College, we are committed to nurturing not only academic excellence but also the character and spiritual growth of our students. As we journey together in Christian community, we recognise the vital role parents and caregivers play in shaping a culture where students thrive – a culture marked by respect, integrity, and Christ-like self-management.
One of the foundational expressions of respect and unity within our community is the wearing of the school uniform. When students wear their uniform correctly and with pride, it reflects a shared commitment to our College values. It says, “I belong here. I honour this place and those around me.” We ask for your continued support in encouraging your child to arrive each day dressed appropriately, with care and attention to detail. This simple yet significant act fosters a sense of belonging and collective identity.
Another area where your partnership is essential is in helping students adhere to our guidelines around mobile phone use. As a College, we require that phones are placed in lockers during the day and not accessed until the end of school. This policy exists to minimise distraction, promote face-to-face connection, and ensure a safe and focused learning environment. Your reinforcement of these expectations at home is greatly appreciated and makes a meaningful difference.
We are also deeply invested in guiding our students to develop self-management skills. This involves taking responsibility for their actions, making wise choices, and contributing positively to the College culture. In classrooms, on the playground, and in collaborative learning settings, students are encouraged to act with humility, patience, and respect – modelling the character of Christ.
As Scripture reminds us in Colossians 3:23: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” Whether it’s how students wear their uniform, manage their devices, or engage with peers, we encourage them to see each decision as an opportunity to honour God and bless those around them.
Together – staff, students, and families -we are shaping a school culture grounded in mutual respect, Christ-like love, and high expectations. Thank you for your continued partnership as we raise up young people of purpose, character, and faith.
