Senior House Athletics Carnival Triumphs with New Format

On Wednesday 9 August our Senior School students and staff travelled to the WA Athletics Stadium for the Senior House Athletics Carnival. With wet weather surrounding the day, we were blessed with a beautifully sunny day on this Wednesday.

For the first time the carnival was a full participation carnival, meaning that all students in attendance competed in at least some events. This meant a new format and program with more staff and parent involvement to enable the day to work. I was extremely pleased with how the school community came together and this new format has proven to be a success.

Congratulations to the following students who achieved champion and runner up for their year level:

Right from the start Bennett took a strong lead atop the overall points tally with the other four houses in a close jostle for second place. Bennett continued to pull to be overall house champions for the carnival with Shenton narrowly claiming second spot. Congratulations Mr Beacham, Trent, Trinity and Bennett house for claiming your first major carnival shield since 2010!

Thank you to the students for participating and representing the College and their Houses with pride and thanks to the staff and parents for working tirelessly throughout the day and assisted at event sites or came to support the event.
