If you’re in Year 10 and considering a career in the trades, this is your chance to get hands-on with real tools at the Swan Trade Training Centre’s free Try a Trade Day. This event offers the opportunity to explore a range of trades, including Building and Construction, Electrotechnology, and Engineering: Heavy Metal Fabrication.

Date: Wednesday 4 June – internal students | Friday 6 June – external students
Venue: Swan Trade Training Centre

This hands-on day aims to:

  • Motivate students through real, practical experience in different trades.

  • Share current and honest information about future career choices.

  • Show participants that skill, education, and training offer real choices for the future.

Students will also have the chance to connect with industry professionals, apprentices, and VET trainers, gaining practical insights into potential career pathways.

This is an expression of interest and once you’ve registered, Mr Matthew King, Head of Swan Trade Training Centre, will be in touch with you with more details about the day.

Before submitting your enrolment enquiry please be aware of the following:
  • Limited places available in Year 3, 2026 and 2027
  • There are waitlists for Kindergarten and Year 7, 2026  
  • We encourage you to submit applications at least two years in advance.
