This week we welcomed students back for the start of Term 2 and gathered as a community to mark several important occasions. The Junior School began the term with a joyful Year 1–6 Welcome Assembly, and on Tuesday, the whole College paused to reflect at the Junior and Senior School ANZAC Assembly. On Wednesday evening, Swan hosted the Christian Schools Election Forum, welcoming over 100 guests, including school leaders, parents and prominent interstate speakers, to discuss the future of faith-based education in Australia. Today, selected Senior School students took part in the IGNIS Mission Student Intern Program Welcome at ECU Joondalup—a valuable opportunity for students interested in aerospace and STEM to develop key skills and industry connections. We also held our Parents in Partnership meeting this morning, continuing to build strong relationships with our parent community.
Looking ahead, our Year 12 ATAR Psychology students will head to the zoo on Monday for a hands-on learning experience. On Tuesday, Junior School students will enjoy choosing something special at the Mother’s Day Stall. The highly anticipated Junior production Fiddler on the Roof Junior will run from 6–9 May. We will finish the week with our Junior School Mother’s Day Event on Friday at 2:00pm in the Undercover Area—a lovely way to honour and appreciate the mothers in our community.

Today, selected Senior School students from Swan Christian College took part in the IGNIS Mission Student Intern Program Welcome, held at ECU Joondalup Campus. This significant event, attended by media and school representatives, marks the beginning of an exciting opportunity for students passionate about space, engineering and the future of STEM in Australia.
The IGNIS Mission Program is designed to extend and challenge students in Years 7–11 through real-world experiences that go beyond the classroom. Our students will engage in collaborative problem solving, critical and analytical thinking, and build essential skills in communication and teamwork. The program also provides valuable insights into the aerospace industry and allows students to connect with peers from other schools who share similar interests.
We are proud of our students who have been invited to join this initiative and look forward to seeing how they grow and develop through this experience.
