Dear Parent/Guardian

As Term 2 draws to a close, our students have had a very full week. Year 8 and 9 exams wrapped up, and Year 12s attended excursions to the zoo for Biology and to Curtin for the English and Literature Conference. Tuesday saw Year 7 boys at the ACC AFL Lightning Carnival and families at the Year 10 Career Pathways Night. The Creative Lab Exhibition ran on Wednesday, while Thursday featured a packed schedule: College Photo Day, a Year 1 history excursion to Whiteman Park, the Year 3 String Concert, and a well-attended Junior School Instrumental Evening. Today, our Swanonline students enjoyed rock climbing, and our Year 12s celebrated Gratitude Day. We also look forward to tonight’s sold-out opening of Making Robin Hood, presented by our Alumni cast. Purchase your tickets for Monday and Tuesday night before they sell out. On Sunday, our Year 6s depart for Canberra and Sydney, and some Year 11s and 12s prepare for their mission trip to Cambodia.

Next week, Junior School students will join a Constable Care incursion on safety, while our Year 6s continue their east coast adventures. Senior students and staff travel to Cambodia on mission, and on Friday 27 June, the College will host the filming of Borrowed Song, a project with Murdoch University. Year 11 and 12 Visual Arts students will also visit AGWA before we conclude the term.

Making Robin Hood: Tonight is sold out but tickets available Monday and Tuesday

Don’t miss this laugh-out-loud comedy suitable for the whole family! Tonight’s show is now sold out but tickets are still available on Monday and Tuesday. Making Robin Hood is a clever and chaotic play directed by Jane Hille, featuring Swan Christian College alumni.

Set around a group of actors preparing for a medieval theatre festival, the play follows their attempt to rework the legendary Robin Hood tale with a hilarious twist – a feminist version of the classic story performed mostly by men. Add in a dragon, a confused storyline, and a director’s assistant who insists she’s a star, and you’ve got a recipe for comedy gold.

Making Robin Hood
Date: 20 (sold out), 23, 24 June
Time: 7:15pm
Venue: Swan Christian College
Register now: scea.me/robinhood

Come along and support our alumni while enjoying an evening of fun, laughter and medieval mayhem.

Year 3 Semester 1 Strings

On Thursday 19 June, our Year 3 students took to the stage to perform in their Semester 1 Strings Concert. The students confidently showcased the skills they have been developing throughout the semester as part of the College’s music program. It was encouraging to see the progress they have made in learning their string instruments.

Thank you to the parents who attended and supported their child’s learning. We value your ongoing partnership in their education.

Year 6 Sydney-Canberra Camp

Departing on Sunday 22 June 2025, Year 6 students from our school will be undertaking an education tour of the national capital. Students will be given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy.

The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government is contributing funding of $510 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion.
