Dear Parent/Guardian

It’s been a full and purposeful week across the College, with a wide range of activities engaging students, staff and families. On Wednesday and Thursday, Principal Darnelle Pretorius and staff represented Swan Christian College at the Dowerin Machinery Field Days, generating strong interest in both Swanonline and Swan Christian College. Rehearsals for Hop It Poppit are well underway as our performers prepare for the shows in October. Yesterday evening, families gathered for the Father/Son and Mother/Daughter Growing Up Night, which supported open and healthy conversations around growing up. Today, some of our Year 10 students departed for the Service Learning CAPS trip, while our Junior School students enjoyed selecting gifts from the Father’s Day Stall. Year 2 students presented their assembly, and our Year 12s celebrated the end of the week with a Movie Night. We also welcomed a range of university representatives to campus today for the University Expo, offering valuable guidance on future study and career pathways.

Looking ahead to next week:

  • Tuesday: Junior School Father’s Day event
  • Thursday: Twilight Tour – we look forward to welcoming over 200 guests to explore the College
  • Friday: Selected students participating in the WACSSA Cross Country Carnival
  • Friday: Chilled Friday – a Languages event in the amphitheatre at lunch time

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men."

Each year, the Field Days attract thousands of visitors from across the State, providing a valuable opportunity for regional communities to connect with education providers, businesses and industry.

There was strong interest in both the College and Swanonline, our online learning pathway that offers high quality Year 7-12 education for students who are geographically isolated or unable to attend on-campus school.

The event also provided a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with alumni and engage with people in the wider community, sharing how the College continues to provide a Christ-centred education from Kindergarten through to Year 12.

Earlybird Special to Hop It Poppit

We’re excited to invite families to this year’s Junior School production, Hop It, Poppit!, presented by Fenceline Theatre. This original performance promises a delightful mix of humour, heart and important life lessons.

What it’s about
Somewhere far, far away, a king and a queen lived in a castle, surrounded by their royal subjects – except the subjects were not so loyal. The people of the kingdom had grown tired of their king’s unkindness. Over time, he had become harsh and cruel, ignoring the queen’s gentle warnings. Then one day, something strange happened: the prince mysteriously turned into a frog and hopped right out of the kingdom!

Our Junior School students will bring this colourful and meaningful story to life through song, movement and drama. It’s a production the whole family will enjoy.

Earlybird Special
Take advantage of earlybird pricing if you book before 26 September.

ACC Championship Soccer Final

On Wednesday, our Senior School boys’ soccer team fought hard in the ACC Championship Final against CBC Fremantle, ultimately going down 2-0. While the result didn’t go our way, making it to the final is a remarkable achievement and a first in Swan Christian College history. We are very proud of the boys for their effort, commitment and for representing the College with excellence.

There was a fantastic turnout in the gym at lunchtime, with students and staff gathering to watch the live stream of the match. The atmosphere was electric, with the crowd erupting each time the boys went close to scoring.

We congratulate the team on their outstanding season and thank them for the way they have brought our community together through their success.
